About Us.

Dakota is the Founder and President of Sycamore Builders. He launched Sycamore Builders in 2021 with a passion for high-performance building practices and a desire to leave a lasting positive impact on the environment and local community. Dakota has a degree in Construction Management  and comes from multiple generations of craftsmen and builders. He is a certified Passive House Builder and licensed General Contractor with an Unlimited designation for both residential and commercial sectors.

Dakota is excited about the team he is creating to offer sustainable, luxury custom home building services in western North Carolina. Aside from his role at Sycamore Builders, Dakota enjoys fly fishing, mountain biking, camping, and spending time with friends/family. Dakota moved to Brevard in 2015 from the mountains of Colorado, now residing in downtown Brevard with his wife, Lucy, and their son, Parker.

Trey has been in the industry since 1992, serving in various roles in the residential and commercial sectors of construction. He studied Construction Management at Georgia Southern University and brings an incredible amount of experience to the Sycamore Builders team. Trey is responsible for all aspects of our production process and develops robust relationships with our trade partners, clients, suppliers, and Sycamore Builders in-house craftspeople. Trey is an avid cyclist and lives in Brevard with his wife, Susan, and his sons, Bode and Hayes.

Thomas Begley has been in the construction industry for 10+ years and is passionate about the details. He comes from a background in construction sales and development. Thomas lives in Brevard with his three children. He is an active member of our community, coaches little league baseball, and was born and raised here in Brevard. 

Michael brings 15 years of diverse experience in the industry, combining a formal education in fine furniture craftsmanship from the esteemed Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Camden, Maine and a degree in Human Studies. Known for his keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of processes, Michael began his career as a cabinetmaker before transitioning to roles in site management and fine carpentry.

Over the years, Michael has contributed to projects of all sizes, consistently demonstrating a passion for quality and performance that elevates every team he joins. His expertise and dedication make him an invaluable asset to our team.

Originally from Connecticut, Michael spent time in Idaho before settling in Hendersonville, where he lives with his wife, Sarah, and their beloved dog. Outside of work, he is an avid outdoorsman, enjoys competitive soccer, and playing music.
